ICON 2025 Nigel Williams Award- Student Prize

After being awarded the biannual ICON Nigel Williams Award I was given the opportunity to present my project at the 2025 ICON Ceramics & Glass Group Annual Group Meeting.

My 20 minute presentation covers my treatment considerations and methodology (including discussing a couple novel approaches I developed for the project), and my visit to the Royal Pavilion in Brighton to take molds from a similar object.

While working on the Stanley Arts project with my colleagues Duncan McCall, Tiago Oliveira, and Ross Hodges, Duncan and I were tasked with leading an hour talk on the conservation process to local community members as part of a outreach initiative to foster collective ownership of the historic space.

Our presentation included demonstrations in tile cleaning and color mixing for retouching, historic context, and project milestones.

2023 Student Organized International Conference

Should It Stay or Should It Go?: Repatriation and Decolonization in Conservation

I headed the organization of this internationally attended conference with a team of 6 fellow students as team lead. The hybrid event included 2 panels, 9 presentations, and a printed zine which included speaker bios, presentation abstracts, and the responses from a pre-event writing prompt activity.

My responsibilities included liaising with speakers, writing the funding proposal, co-writing the writing prompt activity, managing the IT team for the event, and hosting the panels.
